Startup Guide Stockholm

Stockholm has already proven to be a startup hub capable of punching well above its weight class. The atmosphere and intense networking at the many meetups that take place every week is reminiscent of Silicon Valley. Indeed, also in terms of unicorns per capita, Sweden is second only to Silicon Valley, with well known brands such as Skype, Spotify, King, Mojang and Klarna.

What are the contributing factors? Is it the forward-looking policies and world class infrastructure investments in the 80’s and 90’s? The Dotcom-experiences from the late 90’s and early 2000’s?  Relative economic stability, the more recent establishment of creative co-working spaces and startup-communities or a growing number of serial entrepreneurs and business angels? – probably all of the above.
